Okay. I've purchased many handhelds like this over the years, usually cheap ones like this. The games on it are nothing to write home about and there's none on them that I recognize, but the screen is very bright and easy to read. The battery has a charge in it (at least mine did) so I was able to test out the 16 and 8 bit games in depth. They almost remind me of mobile games that you would find on old cellphones from the last aughts/early 10s in terms of what type of games are available. The buttons seem responsive and easy to use. No issues with holding a charge either; I played on it for about two hours before I stopped.
The handheld does have a tf port on it and in these description of this product, it says you can 'download' more games if you use your own card. I wasn't sure how that would work as it doesn't say anything in the included directions on how to do so, but I might put a card in and see what it does to it afterwards by then plugging that in to my PC. If I find out anything in terms of that, I will update my review to let others that may purchase this know how to do just that.
Is this worth the price? I suppose so, if you are looking for little games to keep you or your kids entertained for a couple of minutes here and there, but I wouldn't rely on it to hold your attention on it for hours and hours. It's fun for what it is and younger kids, like 10 or so might have a more enjoyable experience.
Kids totally love this game console, 3inch screen clear enough for enjoyable gaming experience. Typs 3 charging cord making it simple for kids to charge the device without ruining the charging socket which is the most common case with micro usb ones. TF card is a plus so whenever they get bored with the games which a bid difficult since it’s 300 they can download more. Audio on the device good wish it wasn’t that loud lol. Could remove one star for build quality but looking at the price it’s the best for this price range.
Definitely recommend
We just got it so we'll see how long it lasts but from what I can tell, the kids love it. We take it in the car for longer rides. It's got a lot of fun games on it for kids. I'm not even gonna lie, I play with it a lot, too. Fun, simple, sweet games with great sound effects. Reminds me of when I was a kid in the 90's. They're like little brain teasing games and they're well designed. Anyway, we love this little thing. 10/10 would recommend.
Honestly surprised this is as solid as it is.
For starters, it comes with a pair of earbuds. Are the earbuds going to knock your socks off? No, but hey, free earbuds, and they're alright. It's a nice touch I pretty much never see.
This also has a tf card slot. Given this thing is probably running some sort of ARM based system I'm going to guess you can load a lot of stuff on it.
Sound is fine, the buttons are also fine. Viewing angle isn't the best, but I don't expect a much from handhelds in this regard. Only really becomes an issue if you're hotseating the game and trying to watch a friend play when its their turn. Lots of games on here, many of them variations of more old titles. It has an interface I haven't seen before though, so that's a nice thing.
Honestly for the price, with the earbuds and the tf slot and it doing fine in all the other areas? It's great.
Not sure how much it will be able to handle past 16 bit. Will update if I can get 32 working.
This is a no-frills retro style handheld console that offers 8 and 16 bit games. Some of the games appear generic, but others may be home console ports. Many of the games are very simple, so if you aren't going to tinker with the TF card capability, this handheld may be best suited to younger gamers.
The menu system is user friendly, allowing you to designate favorites that display in their own menu. In addition, exiting a game takes you back to the spot in the menu where you left off, helpful for navigating a list of 300 games when compared to other units that completely reset to the beginning of the menu after each game. The menu system also displays a thumbnail image of each game. A nice user-interface implementation overall!
The headphone jack is a plus, and the rotary-dial volume control allows you to tailor the audio output to your liking, including silencing it completely. The one concern I have noted so far is the responsiveness of some of the buttons, but I will update if that is something that improves or increases over time.
I have tested a number of these budget handhelds recently, and this is the first one that merits a recommendation straight out of the box. I have not experimented with the TF card capability yet, as there were no instructions for that, but the potential for expandability would only add to the value of this unit. To be determined - will update once I get around to figuring out the TF card implementation.
