Wow! My earlier days came rushing back once I figured out how to use this game. The instructions are not too clear. But it's not too difficult to figure out. This Handheld game has all of the games from your past whether they are on Ninetendo original, Super Ninetendo, Sega Genesis, or Sony Playstation. There are other systems as well, some of which I've never heard of. I couldn't believe that I was playing Donkey Kong Country and Earthworm Jim 2! The game has good color and decent graphics. This is a very fun game and it would make a great gift for those of a certain age. As you scroll through screens, different controllers come up and that's how you tell which system you're on. Then, there is a subset of games you can play from that system. It sure beats buying all of those systems and games again! Love this!

Those of us of a certain age will remember growing up with 1st and second generation hand held consoles like the GameBoy and whatnot. There is definitely a nostalgia factor with these new cheap handheld Linux(!) gaming devices. Who needs to spend $300 on a Switch when you can have all the arcade games you grew up playing in the palm of your hand? This is an R36S Handheld Game Console with a 3.5 inch 640x480 color screen. The resolution isn't all that great, but the small size makes up by squishing all those pixels together to make it legible. Definitely not high def, but hey, you're playing old 16-bit arcade games here. Plus that's part of how they get the price down to <$90.
The hardware running this little dynamo is a 64-bit ARM Cortex A45 CPU, running at 1.5gHz max, with 1GB of RAM. I think your basic Raspberry Pi is going to be more powerful, but comes in a much different form factor and requires a lot more setup to game with. This is ready to go out of the box.
After powering it on, it takes 10-15 seconds to go through initial startup before you can get to the option screen. After that you can select from the large list of pre-loaded games. You'll recognize a bunch and the rest, maybe not so much. However if you know where to look, you can download more games onto the memory card that ships with this device (provided you have the appropriate card reader and computer to download them).
The battery is claimed to last anywhere from 3-5 hours. I haven't been able to test that limit as my hands cramp up after playing for 20 minutes. I'm old. :( Suffice to say, the battery life on this is plenty long enough for my gaming purposes.
Recommended, but you may want to exercise your hands and thumbs beforehand so you don't get cramps like me. :P

Very good

Very good retro handheld console. Says there are exactly 15,108 games installed across multiple generations. Screen is large, bright and clear. Quality of the plastic is good and has a decent weight to it.Not sure why they call this R40S Pro when its pretty much just an R36S. Even the internals inside says R36S as shown in my uploaded photo. Another thing, the product page says the battery is 3800mAh, when in fact, it is just 3000mAh as shown in my poto. Most of the buttons are loud, especially the triggers. No issues with the D-Pad and sticks. Theres only one speaker and it is right in the center. The sound quality is good, but would've been better if there were two.I've seen a video review of this same product online and for some weird reason, the copies I got have a cheap printed sticker on the back unlike the more professional looking one I seen on the video review. I've uploaded the difference as well.Overall, still a very good handheld thats great for wasting time on. Personally, I would look into other retro gaming handhelds because nowadays, it just seems like theres a new one every week.

Amazing amount of games packed on an awesome looking console!

Really love this game console, it is reminiscent of the classic Gameboy color system with a modern twist. The screen really looks amazing, colors pop, resolution isn’t amazing but good enough to play all the retro systems with flying colors. I really like how dim the display gets, at its lowest setting I can easily play the console in pitch darkness, the only thing that annoys me is the bright led light that is visible through the transparent shell, it is jarringly bright and I cannot find a way of turning it off, you can only change the color from the default blue to a red which is slightly dimmer. Wish I could turn the LED off all together. Buttons are all really responsive on the console, all clicks register first time, the analogue sticks are recessed and feel good, almost identical to Nintendo switch style analogue sticks. The A,B,X,Y buttons feel good, good travel and good membrane style feel. The trigger buttons don’t feel great and have a hollow click but do work fine and are placed well. The front 3 buttons are really clicky and hollow feeling and unfortunately one feels different than the other two which is a bit odd. The D pad feels great and has a good membrane style click to it.The software is really where this console shines, amazing amount of preloaded games about half of which already have box art scraped so has a really nice look in emulation station. Comes with a 256gb micro SD which you can add more games too and also potentially install custom firmware, but the out of the box experience will be perfect for 90% of users. Amazing selection of games, from all the classics on GBA, NES, SNES, Gameboy and a ton more. Battery life is really great too, left it at about 40% and didn’t use it for a few days and it stayed at the exact same battery percentage which is awesome.Overall for $80 you get a lot of value here, a ton of games to play, good feeling and looking game console, good screen, great software, highly recommend this if you want to play some classic retro games on the go, I love it!
